About the area

HRH Prince Charles The Prince of Wales pioneered Poundbury. Ten years ago, he released the land for this prestigious famous development. With the architect Leon Crier he has much to do with its individual architectural heritage design. Prince Charles visits frequently. The development will continue for another ten years. This should not disturb your enjoyment of the area.

In close walking distance we have a variety of shops, a public house, restaurants, art galleries, coffee shops, hairdressers, garden centre and a village hall where many activities take place including a farmers market on the 1st Saturday of each month.

We are situated on the western outskirts of Dorchester 1 mile from the town centre, Dorset’s historic county town, 7 miles from Weymouth with its beautiful beach and harbour and 15 miles from the port of Bridport. Dorset's famous ‘Jurassic Coastal Paths’ and wonderful countryside are all within easy access.
